Payet's agent speaks on transfer rumours
http://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11685/10313726/west-ham-midfielder-dimitri-payet-transfer-would-cost-ridiculous-money-says-agent

Dimitri Payet's agent says it would take "ridiculous money" to sign the West Ham midfielder this summer.

Payet joined the Hammers from Marseille last summer and enjoyed a sensational debut season in the Premier League, earning a call-up for the France squad for Euro 2016.

He justified his inclusion in Didier Deschamps' final 23-man squad with a dazzling display in France's opening Group A match against Romania, scoring a stunning last-minute goal to earn the hosts a 2-1 win.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have since been linked in the national press with moves for the 29-year-old, with figures quoted as high as £60m.

But Payet's agent, Mark McKay, insists his client is content at West Ham and feels only a mega-money offer could tempt the Hammers to sell their star man.

"As far as I am concerned, he's been happy at West Ham and it's down to West Ham that he's in the position that he is in," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"He's doing great now for France and to get him now, you've got to be talking ridiculous money. But football is football, so you never know."

He added: "When he first came last year, we hoped for the best with him. We knew that he was a really good player, but I don't think anyone could really expect what he has gone on to do in the Premier League so far.

"The game against Romania the other night was a joy to watch."

Mckay also confirmed West Ham forward Diafra Sakho is seeking assurances over his future at the club.

Sky sources understand Sakho has told Hammers boss Slaven Bilic he wants to leave this summer, with Sunderland keen on signing him.

"He has had conversations with people at West Ham and he wants to know where his future lies. He wants to start pre-season where he wants to be playing," McKay said.

"West Ham are looking for that top, top striker and Diafra is a bit concerned, that once they find that striker, what his place in the team is going to be.

"If he gets those assurances from West Ham, I am sure he'll be happy to stay there, but otherwise he may be looking elsewhere.

"I think if you look at Diafra, he is a victim of the success West Ham have had. Now they are going to the Olympic Stadium, they want to kick on and he may just be left behind, he's not that star name they are looking for maybe.

"So, we'll wait and see on that. It's up in the air at the moment. He's a West Ham player as it stands until David Sullivan and Slaven Bilic turn round and say differently."

Re: Payet's agent speaks on transfer rumours
Payet wasn't a gem to be found, he was already top for assists n Europe. The possibility was always there for him to hit the ground running so for Bilic to find other gems would mean them having to get used to the PL and they would have to be younger and still learning as current players of his stature want CL football. The luck with Payet was all about him being inconsistent and then Bilic helping him gain consistency.

HE DOESN'T HAVE A PRICE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T REPLACE HIM THAT IS WHY HE STANDS OUT.

So in summing up every player has their price.

I think, for an agent, that's about as close to 'no, fuck off' as you will ever get!

Joey O'Brien isn't a West Ham player anymore.

Guess that's something else you don't follow.

Or 20 million and Modric, Rodriguez and Benzema.

We'll give you Payet and JOB, as I know you like a West Ham RV from time to time.

EVERY player has a price that they will be let go for. IF someone come in with stupid money and we know Billic can find some gems then let him go.

Madrid want that summer signing each year, the form player and will pay what it costs (even if they can't fit him in the team) to appease the fans. I think he will be there, personally.

Probably would have been Hazard if he kicked on!

Mark's a pretty straight forward fellow and speaking absolute sense here. Payet wants to stay and he wants to keep him here if he can. If a silly offer is made and the player wants to go, he will.

Of all the things agents say, this is far from the worse I have heard.

Re: Payet's agent speaks on transfer rumours
according to whoers last fall, he had no buyout clause under his first contact. If that's true, I have to believe that there is still no buyout or it's somewhere north of 100 mil (hopefully 200).

Keep Sakho and Carrol. Add two £30 million strikers and a couple more top quality BOSSO's.

On the surface, I don't see anything bad in what he's said. But he is a football agent, so it's hard to know wether to take it at face value or as a come-on for interested clubs to up their bids.

Anyone know him/know someone that knows him?

I think this pretty much translates as, 'I've done my very best to unsettle the lad, but he's told me to fuck right off'.

Re: Payet's agent speaks on transfer rumours
No rh, it isn't but considering all the reports have said it would take a bid of 60 million I'd say he's pretty much spot on unless you think we wouldn't really want 60 and would take a lot less. I'm not sure why anyone is getting their knickers in a twist over what he's said. He's basically said payets not going anywhere unless we decide to sell him.
